Scammers Pose as Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions in Garda

They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not members of the military, but scammers who, at different times, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
