Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri, individuals contact hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda regions, offering subscriptions to the army’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to Recognize Frauds

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you are targeted by individuals who,

seeking money, tend to disappear without a trace.
