Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when telefonically contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the army‘s magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to Recognize the Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
