Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Area Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigades, or the Comune security forces.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement authorities.
