Scammers Impersonate Police to Win Subscriptions in Garda Area

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not actual personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, the police force, firefighters, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be alert and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
