Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazines

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

They are not members of the military but are scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately inform the Carabinieri—simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you are being targeted by individuals who,

if they have money, do not make themselves visible again.
