Garda Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

The perpetrators pretend to be Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to the armed forces magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer be showing up.
