Garda Scammers Impersonate Police to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to the army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, ordinary police, fire brigade, or Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often suggest subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, beware and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
