Garda Fraud Alert: Beware of Fake Carabinieri Poseurs Targeting Local Businesses

They pose as Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda region, proposing subscriptions to army magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, firefighters, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.
