Brescia Fighters and Veterans Archive Reorganization Begins in Montichiari
The archive of Fighters and Veterans in Garda is being reorganized following a protocol between the Municipality and Brescia’s branch of the national association. The project, led by historian Emanuele Cerutti of Montichiari as part of his final coursework at Mantova’s School of Archivistics and Paleography, involves sorting, conserving, and cataloging the materials, with initial results expected by June.
Materials stored in the former registry office and the attic of Palazzo Tabarino are under review with support from local officials, Archivio di Stato di Brescia expert Debora Piroli, and lawyer Aldo Paloschi, president of the Brescia Federation. The documents, dating from the association’s founding in 1946 and its precursor established in 1919, include previously unpublished materials from the 1920s and 1930s, filling a 30-year gap in the archive’s organization.
