Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Offer Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio e Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to arm magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be from finance, the police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri— simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear and are no longer seen.
