Scammers Pose as Carabinieri in Garda Area to Send Fake Law Magazines

They pose as Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to law enforcement magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be part of the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri— just dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, cease to make any further contact.
