July at the Parco Giardino Sigurtà: Blooms, Events, and Promotions
Following a festive spring visit, I am pleased to offer suggestions for visiting the Parco Giardino Sigurtà in July, where spectacular summer blooms renew: roses, water lilies, lotus flowers, hydrangeas, medicinal plants, echinacea, daylilies, and water hyacinths brighten the 60 hectares of greenery, creating ever-changing landscapes. The charm of nature is enriched by wellness events—the Nature and Health Cycle—the artistic exhibition by Cracking Art, and a special promotion for July Saturdays.
Summer brings more intense colors thanks to dahlias, hydrangeas, lavender, Canna indica, and the golden yellow of St. John’s wort. Along the Avenue of Roses, the one-kilometer rose path continues to bloom with two varieties: Queen Elizabeth and Hybrid Polyantha & Floribunda, while the view stretches to the Scaliger Castle of Valeggio sul Mincio (13th century) outside the park’s boundaries but in the hearts of visitors.
The pathways and gardens turn into a collage of shades and scents. Coleus, bignonia, buddleja (the butterfly bush), daylilies, water hyacinths, sunflowers, crepe myrtle, hydrangeas, marigolds, and verbena fill this internationally recognized park.
Multi-colored water lilies and pink and white lotus flowers float on the water of the Water Gardens, resting on large water-repellent leaves.
In relaxation, visitors can watch the dance of butterflies: the Silver-washed Fritillary, the white Cabbage butterfly, the yellow Clouded Yellow, the Clouded Skipper, the active Blues, the majestic Swallowtail, and the elegant Scarce Swallowtail. Also present are the creative Melitaea, the rapid hummingbird hawk-moth, the warm Red Admiral, and the fascinating blue-reflecting Nine-spotted moth.
Ascending beyond the lawn and the shade of centuries-old trees, you can reach the magnificent yew maze, overlooking panoramic views of the park’s immense spaces, which can be enjoyed on foot, by bicycle, on the panoramic train, or in comfortable electric golf carts.
Special Events at Parco Sigurtà
Yoga and Pilates Sessions: Nature and Health
Beginning in June 2026 and continuing through July, the “Nature and Health” evenings run from 7 PM to 8 PM: Yoga with Laura Orlandi on July 1st and 8th; Pilates with Stefania Roverselli on July 2nd and 9th (rain dates: July 15th for Yoga, July 16th for Pilates).
The activities are open to everyone, including beginners. The cost is 9€ for all lessons for season pass holders, and 9€ per lesson for non-members.
Cracking Nature: Cracking Art Collective Exhibition
The Cracking Art collective returns to Sigurtà with a new widespread exhibition designed to dialogue with the garden’s corners. Transforming the park into a large open-air museum, it features 162 colorful animal installations, creating a path where contemporary art and nature interact, asking: “Which animal represents you?”
Guests are invited to reflect on the shared traits between humans and animals. To help visitors identify with them, the ticket office distributes maps showing the installations and guides with interesting details linking the strengths and weaknesses of each animal: Dolphin, Wolf, Snail, Frog, Wild Goose, Penguin, Woodchuck, Turtle, Rabbit, Crocodile, Swallow, and Elephant.
It is a playful and engaging experience for adults and children.
The internationally known Cracking Art collective creates works using recycled and recyclable plastic. Their installations have been hosted in museums, squares, and public spaces worldwide.
July Saturday Promotion
In July, the Parco Giardino Sigurtà offers the special “July Saturday Promotion”: admission for 10€ instead of 18€ on July 4th, 11st, 18th, and 25th. This special ticket is available only online at sigurta.it for each specific date.
FAI Members Day: Sunday, July 5, 2026
FAI members can access the gardens at a reduced rate of 10€ instead of 18€.
