Last Sunday, Desenzano bid farewell to Caffè Italia, a venue that has been a cornerstone of quality dining in the city center for 42 years. Led by Luigi Tremolini and his wife Betty, the establishment closed its doors after a long history characterized by a discerning clientele and an offering of exquisite dishes such as oysters and lobster, complemented by an impressive wine list. The decision to close was made due to the area’s transformation into a tourist destination, which has made it challenging to maintain the desired quality standards.
Tremolini announced that this is not a definitive goodbye, as the couple is already searching for a new space where they can continue their culinary adventure with the same enthusiasm as in the beginning. Despite the closure of Caffè Italia, their commitment to quality dining remains strong; in the future, they will focus on fresh fish sourced directly from the market and dishes prepared with carefully selected ingredients. With the passing of generations, their daughters Chiara and Silvia also participated in the final toast, showcasing the family legacy tied to the restaurant’s culinary tradition.
