Carabinieri Impersonators Scam Garda Hoteliers and Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the armed forces.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, each time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or Municipality police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
