The public library of Riva del Garda is preparing to host a series of literary events at the charming Palazzo Martini. From August 23 to 31, the palace will feature three book presentations, celebrating culture and literature in a captivating historical setting.

Palazzo Martini: A Historical Heritage

Palazzo Martini, part of the municipal heritage, is a significant example of historic architecture in the center of Riva del Garda. Notable features include the large central hall, equipped with a balcony and used for ceremonies and gatherings. Originally home to a small theater, this hall boasts ceilings adorned with frescoes dating back to the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The walls are decorated with precious vintage prints from the collection of the Museo Alto Garda. Additionally, one of the salons houses a piano that belonged to Prof. Lino Righi, a prominent figure in the local cultural scene.

Event Schedule

The events are open to the public free of charge:

Friday, August 23 at 5:30 PM: Meeting with Beatrice Primerano, author of “Irene Bronzetti. A Sister of Italy.” Giuseppe Ferrandi, director of the Historical Museum Foundation of Trentino, will be present, and readings will be conducted by Milena Ferrarini, a volunteer reader from the library.

Friday, August 30 at 5:30 PM: Cristina Alziati will present her book “Forty Poems and Other Disturbances.” She will be in conversation with Marina Bonometti; the author will read some of her works, followed by a musical interlude performed by Aurora Salvetti, a student from the F.A. Bonporti Conservatory. Saturday, August 31 at 10:30 AM: Dario Colombo will discuss his book “Black Mountains” alongside Mariangiola Menotti; readings will be done by Patrizia Perini.
