Cornuda Social Support Project Launches with Community and Institutional Collaboration

Start of the agreement and participants

On the end of June 1996, a convention was held at the hall of the Casa Sociale in Cornuda for the signing of a project in support of the socially most vulnerable people.

Some representatives of local political and social forces participated in ^’ the operation, including the mayor, representatives of Neighborhood Associations, and several volunteering organizations.

Objectives and funding

The project, which has a duration of two years, aims in particular to improve the living conditions of elderly and disabled residents in the municipality.

The total amount allocated for the implementation of ^’ the initiative amounts to about one hundred thousand euros, funded by regional and community funds.

Activities and planned objectives

The activities include home assistance services, psychological support, training courses, and socialization programs for the categories most in need.

Social transport and services, listening centers, and gathering spots will also be enhanced.

Goals and social inclusion

The project aims to promote social inclusion and improve the quality of life for the involved people, also creating opportunities for meetings and solidarity among the citizens.

The role of institutions and associations

^l Municipal Administration has committed to supporting the initiatives, ensuring surveillance and coordination services among the different involved components.

Volunteering organizations will play a central role in the^’ organization and management of activities, guaranteeing active participation from the local community.
