The Autonomous Province of Trento is preparing to celebrate the thirteenth edition of the European Mill Days, an event that will take place on the third weekend of May, specifically on Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th. During these days, visitors will have the opportunity to explore mills, forges, and sawmills open to the public throughout Italy, with a particular focus on the ethnographic museums of the Trentino region. The initiative, organized by Antonella Mott from the Strategic Mission Unit for Cultural Heritage, includes the opening of 23 facilities, including the Moser Press Mill in Baselga di Piné and the Museum of Solandra Civilization in Malé, where the presentation of the book “Water Machines in Mezzana and Ortisé” will also take place.
In the spaces dedicated to material culture, these sites serve as strongholds of historical memory and local identity. Educational workshops and guided tours will be offered at various locations across the province, including the Zeni Mill in Brentonico and the Pellegrini Mill in Varone. Each facility actively participates in the enhancement of local traditions through interactive activities that engage visitors in recounting the history of Trentino’s artisanal work.
