Garda Area Scammers Pose as Carabinieri to Sell Fake Subscriptions
They pose as Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the middle and upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to police publications.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.
Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you’ve fallen prey to individuals who,
after collecting money, disappear without a trace.
