Garda Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

They pose as carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the middle and upper Garda areas, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

This is not the work of military personnel, but of scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to financial authorities, the police, firefighters, or municipal police.

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after receiving the money, disappear without a trace.
