Desenzano del Garda: the “Garda Street Parade” returns with musical events and activism Today, Saturday, May 10, Desenzano del Garda hosts the much-anticipated “Garda Street Parade,” a musical event organized by the Autonomous Gardesano Collective, Smash Repression, and Onda Studentesca. Participants will gather at 3 PM on Via Masaccio, next to the railway station square, while the parade will kick off at 4 PM, traversing various streets in the city center for a total distance of approximately 4 kilometers, concluding at Spiaggia d’Oro at 10 PM. Traffic modifications will be implemented along the route, and volunteers will be present to support participants.
The event is not only a moment of celebration but also a protest against recent policies that limit public spaces and dissent. Informational materials on substance prevention and responsible use will be distributed, along with resources aimed at reducing environmental impact. The organizers emphasize that the “Garda Street Parade” represents an opportunity to give voice to students and citizens against the touristification of the area and issues related to overtourism. Everyone is encouraged to respect the environment and maintain an inclusive atmosphere during the event, reiterating that any form of violence or discrimination will not be tolerated.
