Gerevini Exhibition Opens in Brescia, Retrospective on a Concrete Artist
An exhibition titled Gerevini typographer graphic painter opens on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at the AAB—Associazione Artisti Bresciani, Vicolo delle Stelle 4, Brescia, and runs until Wednesday, May 27. The show, promoted and curated by Mario Caprioli, Ottavio Castellini, Alberto Cavati, Paolo Micheli and Roberto Scolari, is a retrospective of Martino Gerevini. Its catalog includes a critical essay by Fausto Lorenzi, who frames Gerevini’s work as expressing constants of truth and beauty through the interaction of primary shapes and colors within precise modular rhythms, highlighting the artist’s long involvement with concrete art.
Martino Gerevini (1933–2010) directed the Typografia F. Apollonio & C for over twenty years and held roles in the AAB, including counsellor and later vice-president beside Vasco Frati. He devised and codified the AAB’s graphic line, still in use today. The exhibition surveys works from the 1970s to 2010, characterized by geometric abstract compositions, play of numbers and letters, and bright colors, with references to Bruno Munari, Hugo De Marco, Mondrian and Kandinsky. Gerevini also designed logos for posters, produced the Diecimiglia image used until last year, and created the logo for the Multistars meeting.
