The film festival “The Pleasure of Cinema” presents on Thursday, June 6th the film “Mothers’ Instinct”, an American drama-thriller directed by Benoît Delhomme. The 94-minute film stars Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway in the lead roles.
Set in the 1960s, the film tells the story of two close friends, Alice (played by Jessica Chastain) and Celine (played by Anne Hathaway), who live in a peaceful and harmonious neighborhood. Their lives seem perfect: successful husbands, children of the same age who play together, and frequent shared celebrations. However, this serenity is shattered when a tragic accident leads to the death of Celine’s son while under Alice’s supervision.
From that moment on, the two friends drift apart irreparably. This traumatic event sets off a spiral of paranoia and mutual suspicion that culminates in a fierce psychological war between the two women. The cast also includes Anders Danielsen Lie, Josh Charles, and Eamon O’Connel.
Projection Details:
The screening will take place in the cinema hall of the Community of the Valley located at Via Rosmini 5 in Riva del Garda. The start time is scheduled for 9:00 PM. Tickets cost 7 euros for adults and 5 euros for reduced (over 65, under 14, and students up to 25). The ticket office will open half an hour before the start of the screening.
Organization of the Festival:
This initiative is part of the inter-municipal film festival organized by the Alto Garda and Ledro Valley Community, with the participation of the municipalities of Arco, Drena, Ledro, Nago-Torbole, Riva del Garda, and Tenno. The artistic direction is entrusted to the Trentino Theater Coordination.
