In Gargnano, the installation of rockfall protection nets on the slopes of Mount Comer continues, having begun in early August 2024. These state-of-the-art structures are designed to withstand significant energy levels and aim to reduce the risk of landslides in the surrounding areas, particularly in the zones near the hermitage of San Valentino and the homes below.
Following the operations of deforestation and the removal of unstable materials, the rockfall barriers were transported to the site by helicopters. The work will continue until late autumn, with the first phase expected to be completed between the end of October and November. Subsequently, a second phase will commence, which involves extending the barriers towards the Pis area, heading towards Muslone.
