The Renaissance period, although less celebrated compared to other regions of Italy such as Florence or Venice, has left an indelible mark on the history of Brescian art. The city, a meeting point for diverse cultural influences, has been the stage for extraordinary works created by artists of the caliber of Savoldo, Moretto, and Romanino. To explore this artistic heritage, the Sirmione Municipal Library is organizing three special meetings in December 2024.

A Journey Through Brescian Art

The series “The Renaissance in Brescia: Savoldo, Romanino, Moretto” aims to delve into the contributions of these three masters who skillfully reinterpreted the pictorial language of the time. Through the expert eyes of art historian Gabriella Biasio, participants will have the opportunity to discover how local tradition intertwined with Venetian and Lombard influences.
