Today, the parents of Greta and Umberto, accompanied by family and friends, traveled to Rome to await the ruling of the Supreme Court of Cassation regarding the trial involving the two German tourists responsible for their deaths in the Gulf of Salò. The events date back to the night of June 19-20, 2021, when Patrick Kassen and Christian Teismann, while traveling on a Riva speedboat, collided with the vessel carrying Greta Nedrotti and Umberto Garzarella.
During the trial, Kassen was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison, while Teismann received a sentence of 2 years and 11 months. Both sentences had been upheld on appeal. The families’ anticipation for the final word of justice marks a crucial moment in their quest for truth and accountability for the tragic loss of the young individuals.
