The event “Salò Golosa” brought the historic center of Salò to life, guiding participants through a gastronomic journey via the so-called “Passport of Good Taste.” Andrea Maggioni, President of the Merchants Association and Vice President of VisitBrescia, expressed his satisfaction with the event’s success, highlighting it as an opportunity to explore the area’s excellence through a blend of traditional and innovative dishes.
Dishes Between Tradition and Innovation
The variety of culinary offerings impressed with their creativity and respect for tradition. Among the standout dishes were the casoncelli skewers, the “escaped” little birds, and rabbit with guacamole, red onion, and gold leaf. Fish dishes also featured prominently, such as corn cannoli with pike and fried sardines, culminating in the lake paella, a symbol of the fusion between local flavors and international techniques.
A Successful Sunday
The event also saw the participation of the President of the Garda Community, Senator Maria Stella Gelmini, who had the opportunity to engage with local citizens and operators, as well as savor the gastronomic delights offered along the streets of Salò. This direct interaction gave voice to the community’s concerns, strengthening the bond between institutions and residents.
Maggioni expressed gratitude to the partners involved, including the Municipality of Salò, VisitBrescia, the Valtenesi Consortium, and numerous other supporters who made the event’s success possible. “Good the second time around!” he proudly stated, recalling that after more than ten years, Salò has witnessed the revival of a widespread gastronomic event capable of attracting groups of both young and old.
A special thanks was also extended to Luca Banalotti, described by Maggioni as the “true tireless engine” of the event, and to chef Carlo Bresciani for his contribution in engaging local restaurateurs. “We have won,” Maggioni concluded, celebrating the success of this edition and hoping for further growth in the future.
