Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri Feigning Magazine Subscriptions
They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the military.
These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.
How to recognize scams and how to react
They often suggest subscriptions to false magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement.
Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – simply dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who, after accepting money, disappear without a trace.
