Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area for Fraudulent Magazine Offers

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, fire brigades, or the Comune‘s fire department.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement authorities.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

have money, and then disappear.
