Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri, Targeting Garda Region Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to be affiliated with finance authorities, the police, fire brigade, or municipal vigilance.

How to Recognize Scams

They often offer subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the genuine Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
