Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Promote Fake Magazines in Garda

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not actual military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement forces.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri—simply dial 112—at the first sign that you have been targeted by individuals who,

would seek money, and then disappear.
