They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire department, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.
