Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Target Garda Hoteliers and Business Owners

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to army magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, the police, the fire brigade, or the municipal police.

Recognizing the Scams

They often offer subscriptions to fake magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement agencies.
