Warning about poisoned baits: animal safety in Padenghe sul Garda
An alert has been issued between Padenghe sul Garda and Soiano del Lago following the discovery of a dead fox in a green area frequented by hikers and dogs. The animal, found in a state of decomposition, has raised suspicions regarding the presence of poisoned bait, a concerning phenomenon that could jeopardize the safety of both wild and domestic animals. The finding occurred near the Levrini locality and via Brescia, along well-trodden paths. The provincial police intervened to recover the carcass, which has been sent to the Zooprophylactic Institute of Brescia for further examination. Currently, the most plausible hypothesis is poisoning, likely caused by the ingestion of toxic bait deliberately scattered in the area. This modus operandi is not new in the Lower Garda region, where similar incidents have occurred in the past. Authorities are urging citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior or unusual findings while in the area. Italian Version
