Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Targeting Local Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in Medio and Alto Garda, proposing subscriptions to the military’s magazines.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Comune’s firefighters.

Recognizing scams

They often suggest subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect someone has targeted you,

who, if they have money, no longer shows themselves.
