Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Offering Fake Magazine Subscriptions

The perpetrators impersonate Carabinieri when calling hotel owners, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the carabinieri.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, regular police, fire brigade, or even the Comune police.

How to Recognize Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications unrelated to law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,

if they are after money, tends to disappear and not show up again.
