Giovanni Franzoni Secures Silver in Downhill at Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics
Giovanni Franzoni won Italy’s first medal at the Milano Cortina Olympics, securing silver in the downhill event. The 24-year-old skier, who recently claimed victories in Wengen and Kitzbühel, finished just 0.20 seconds behind Swiss winner Von Allmen, with Dominik Paris taking bronze. Franzoni reached speeds of 150 km/h and jumped over 50 meters during his run.
The event was watched on a large screen at Manerba’s sports arena, and Franzoni is set to compete again in the Super G on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.
