Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda Area: How to Recognize Them

Pretending to be Carabinieri, scammers contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to magazines related to the force.

They are not military personnel but impostors who, from time to time, claim to belong to the financial police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Municipality police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
