Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Magazine Subscriptions

Pretending to be Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to the arma magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance sector, police, fire brigade, or the Comune police.

How to Recognize Frauds

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the true Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear and do not reappear.
