Carabinieri Impersonators Target Garda Businesses in Fraud Scheme

They impersonate Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio e Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or to those unrelated to law enforcement.

Therefore, stay alert and immediately notify the Carabinieri— simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
