Adamello Glacier Hosts “The Last Days” Exhibit in Salò to Mark International Glacier Protection Year

UNESCO and WMO have launched the International Year of Glacier Protection, coinciding with the opening of the exhibition “The Last Days” at MuSa in Salò. Curated by Michele Gusmeri and hosted from February 21 to April 12, 2026, the show features 33 photographs documenting the retreat and current state of the Adamello Glacier.

The images, captured with large-format 8×10” analog cameras and developed en plein air on the glacier, highlight artisanal techniques. The project also includes a short film by Matteo Sandrini and Paolo Guarneri, utilizing historic equipment like the 1863 Auzoux & Français Petzval lens, with final prints produced by Gusmeri Fine Art.
