Cornuda Social Support Project Enhances Elderly and Disabled Lives
Agreement in Cornuda
On June 9, 1996, an agreement was held at the hall of the Casa Sociale of Cornuda for the signing of a project aimed at supporting the most vulnerable social groups. The operation involved some representatives of local political and social forces, including the mayor, representatives of the neighborhood association, and various volunteer organizations.
The project, which will last two years, specifically aims to improve the living conditions of the elderly and disabled residents in the municipality. The total amount allocated for the implementation of the initiative is approximately one hundred thousand euros, financed with regional and European funds.
Planned activities and objectives
The planned activities include home care services, psychological support, training and socialization courses for the most vulnerable groups. Social transport services will also be enhanced, and listening and gathering centers established.
The project aims to promote social integration and improve the quality of life of the people involved, while also creating opportunities for encounters and solidarity among citizens.
The role of institutions and associations
The municipal administration has committed to supporting the initiatives by ensuring surveillance services and coordination among the various participating components.
Volunteer organizations will have a central role in organizing and managing the activities, guaranteeing active participation from the local community.
