A conference dedicated to the Roman villas of Lake Garda will take place on Friday, October 17, at the Sala dei Provveditori in Salò, from 9:30 AM to 6:30 PM. The event is organized by the Regional Directorate of Museums of Lombardy in collaboration with Asar and the universities of Brescia and Salò. During the conference, experts in the field will discuss research strategies and enhancement related to these significant historical sites, including the Grotte di Catullo in Sirmione, which represent a valuable archaeological heritage for the region. The sessions will feature presentations on various aspects of Roman architecture and the social dynamics of the time. On Saturday, October 18, a guided tour of the Roman villa in Desenzano is planned, followed by a boat transfer to the Grotte di Catullo, to deepen the understanding of these extraordinary remnants of Roman civilization. The meeting aims to promote greater awareness of the cultural wealth of the area and to foster dialogue between institutions and professionals in the field of cultural heritage conservation.
