Garda Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri to Sell Fake Military Magazine Subscriptions

The scammer impersonates Carabinieri when contacting hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurants in the Middle and Upper Garda, offering subscriptions to military magazines of the army.

These are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance department, police, fire brigade, or the Municipality’s police.

How to recognize the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be vigilant and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

if they had money, would no longer show themselves.
