The Che Guevara via ferrata has reopened after four years of closure, offering a unique opportunity for adventurous hiking enthusiasts in Garda Trentino. The inauguration took place on July 4, in the presence of local authorities, including the Mayor of Dro, Ginetta Santoni. Thanks to a coordinated effort with Garda Dolomiti Tourism Company and executed by Orbari Srl, the climbing route, which spans over 1200 meters and has an elevation gain of more than 1400 meters, has been secured, restoring one of the most challenging via ferratas in the area.
This route not only presents a challenge for experienced hikers but also enhances the surrounding landscape and the Don Zio Pisoni Refuge located at the summit of Monte Casale. Michela Calzà, a councilor of the Autonomous Province of Trento, emphasized the significance of the reopening as an example of collaboration between organizations and as a meaningful tourism opportunity for the region. Given its exposure to the sun and the difficulties of the trail, it is advisable to tackle the via ferrata during the spring or autumn months when conditions are more favorable.
