Scammers Impersonate Carabinieri in Garda, Offers Fake Magazines

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to arma magazines.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance authorities, police, fire brigade, or the Comune firefighters.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or those that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the Carabinieri — just dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

after obtaining money, disappear and no longer appear.
