Scammers Impersonating Carabinieri Target Garda Region Residents

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Medio and Alto Garda areas, proposing subscriptions to the armed forces’ magazines.

They are not military personnel but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Municipal police.

Recognizing scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement agencies.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately alert the genuine Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,
