Desenzano to Host Public Meeting on San Martino High-Speed Rail Station Project
The San Martino TAV station project on the Brescia-Verona high-speed line has returned to local debate after more than a decade, as administrators, trade associations, and politicians have revived the initiative. A public meeting was organized to review the feasibility study and potential consequences, with organizers saying the renewed interest is driven by political pressure in support of a project considered non-priority and not delivering clear benefits to residents; the event will present available information and explore territorial and mobility scenarios.
The meeting is set for Monday, June 15, at 8:45 PM in the Sala della Musa of Villa Brunati, Rivoltella di Desenzano, 5 Via Francesco Agello. Speakers include Alberto Croce, engineer and former director of Brescia’s Public Transport Authority; Andrea Spiller, Desenzano del Garda M5S municipal councilor; and Paola Pollini, Lombardy M5S regional councilor. The session is open to the public and aims to illustrate the feasibility study and the scenarios the project could generate for the local area and mobility.
