During the recent holidays of April 25th and May 1st, the Guardia di Finanza intensified its nautical controls on internal waters, with particular focus on the Lake Garda. The Aeronaval Operational Department (ROAN) of Como, under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel Paolo Zottola, monitored the high influx of tourists to ensure a safe and orderly service for nautical activities. A total of 125 lake police checks were conducted, with 37 specific operations on the lake, resulting in interventions in 24 cases for illegal behaviors such as speeding and lack of safety equipment.
The activities of the Guardia di Finanza are not limited to navigation safety but also include combating the illegal use of lake public property. The inspections revealed irregularities in the economic sector related to the rental of pleasure craft and other tax violations. Thanks to the synergy among the various competent authorities, the Naval Operational Section continues to ensure effective oversight on the lake, thus contributing to the protection of the legal economy and public safety in the area.
